Saving water tips

Being more efficient with water will lower your bills, help the environment and help our storage levels - Saving water

Lorne’s drinking water is sourced exclusively from the Allen Reservoir on the St George River, about 3 kilometres west of the town. Allen Reservoir is surrounded by the Great Otway National Park.

Water is delivered via pipeline to the Lorne Water Treatment Plant on Polwarth Road, where it is filtered and disinfected, before being fed to one of 5 tanks, across 3 pressure zones. Due to the steep coastal terrain, Lorne’s water distribution network is relatively complex.
