Pooseum of Modern (f)Art

Ever wondered what happens when you flush the toilet or what could happen if the wrong things are flushed?  Do you know what a Fatberg is, or what the 3P's are? Come along to our Pooseum of Modern (f)Art and dive head first into all things sewer related. A free, family-friendly activity zone in central Geelong, with interactive and immersive art experiences.

What is it?

The Pooseum is a dynamic activity and exhibition space that will entertain and educate visitors.

Opening for the first time in November 2024, the Pooseum will initially host:

Do you want to build a fatberg?

Created by Norlane-based The Indirect Object, the large-scale 3-D art piece is designed to show how enormous and grotesque fatbergs can be.

Fatbergs feast on items that should never be flushed down the loo or washed down the drain, which form a messy mass to block our sewer systems.

Visitors of all ages will be able to add their own creative touches to the reproduction, ensuring it continually evolves during the exhibition.

Interactive installations

Designed and created by renowned artist Callum Preston, the colourful installations bring the region’s underground sewerage and wastewater system to life.

Activities include:

  • Water use ball toss, a toilet overflow, and puzzles.
  • Chill out zone and quieter play.

Round out your visit with a selection of books, colouring-in materials, crafts, free play and quizzes.

Where is it?

The Pooseum is located in the former café space at the base of our Ryrie Street building.

When is it open?

The Pooseum will be open daily from 10am to 2pm throughout Geelong Design Week, which runs from 21-30 November.
