Public interest disclosures

As a public body, we are subject to the Public Interest Disclosure Act 2012 (formerly known as the Protected Disclosure Act 2012).

A public interest disclosure is a complaint about improper conduct by public officers and public bodies, including Barwon Water, its employees, officers and members. Public interest disclosures were previously called protected disclosures or ‘whistleblower’ complaints.

We are committed to transparency and accountability in our administrative and management practices. We support the making of disclosures that reveal improper conduct. We will not tolerate improper conduct by our people, nor the taking of reprisals against those who come forward to disclose such conduct.
