Salt Torquay — Barwon Water’s 7.5-star housing development being built at the site of a former water basin — is the first estate in regional Australia to be recognised as a One Planet Community.
The One Planet Action Plan outlines all the activities planned for Salt and has been endorsed by Bioregional Australia as outlining a better way to live within our community. It highlights how we will embrace innovation to increase quality of life whilst addressing environmental challenges.

One Planet Living is an internationally recognised leadership program based on 10 simple principles that enable organisations to plan for, deliver and communicate sustainability. We are the first water utility in Australia to embrace the framework.
When complete, Salt Torquay will provide a diverse range of housing types – villas, townhouses and units with lots ranging from 300 m2 to 830 m2. The ground-breaking urban development will feature a showcase of innovate, sustainable eco-features including solar cells, battery storage, electric car charging points and smart water meters using internet-of-things technology.
