Barwon Water recognised as one of Australia’s most innovative organisations

Barwon Water has been recognised as one of the most innovative organisations in Australia.

Our commitment to building a positive workplace culture and developing high performing teams was recognised with an Innovative HR Team 2019 Award from Human Resources Director Magazine.

The awards shine a spotlight on organisations pushing the boundaries in HR innovation, with past recipients including Australia Post, Medibank and Deloitte.

We were recognised for our three-year program that drives Barwon Water to be a resilient, high performing, safe and healthy workplace that is geared to achieve the ambitious goals of its Strategy 2030.

Strategy 2030 sets out how we deal with the challenges of providing secure and affordable water for our customers, community and the environment in the face of a warmer and drier climate.  Our people are embracing the challenge and through their leadership we are helping our region prosper.

Our three-year program aims to guide staff through this period of positive change by providing coaching and workshops to leaders in the organisation, offering workshops with individual teams to enhance positive culture and behaviours, and introducing a new performance review process that encourages meaningful conversations between leaders and their staff, rather than just filling in a form.
