Our WaterSmart Washing Machine Rebate program supports residential customers to improve the water efficiency of their homes to save water, energy and reduce their bills.
A rebate of $250 is available to residential customers that purchase a minimum 4.5-Star WELS and 4-Star energy rated front loading washing machine.
Eligibility
To be eligible for a WaterSmart Washing Machine Rebate, you must:
- live in a property connected to mains drinking water
- be a Barwon Water residential customer that pays for water by receiving a Barwon Water bill
- have purchased and installed an eligible washing machine after 1 December 2023 and prior to applying for the rebate (proof of purchase (eg. receipt, tax invoice) is required to apply).
Eligible products
A front-loading washing machine with a minimum 4.5-Star WELS and 4-Star energy rating purchased on or after 1 December 2023.

A maximum rebate of $250 may be claimed per household, through one claim only during the specified timeframe outlined in the Terms and Conditions.
The washing machine purchased must be for the replacement or upgrade to a more efficient product (applicant will provide details of the make/model on the application form).
